GET OUT GET DIRTY GIVE BACK! “West Oakland Project 2013”…Danny Monson & Miguel Sanchez will be a part of a one week long volunteer project with Clif Bar’s In Good Company Foundation. West Oakland is a food desert. With only one grocery store (soon to be two), residents have little choice but to shop at the local corner store which offers limited, not-so-healthy options for above-average prices. This summer City Slicker Farms and local residents will continue to increase access to healthy food in West Oakland through community farms, backyard gardens and neighborhood farm stands.
