Eric and Tim: “We both work at States Logistics, and you know, it’s all about service, solving challenges at hand, that very day. It’s the same here in the South Bronx. We are here to serve and make a difference. We jumped in, saw what they needed us to do and got busy.” The Bronx Project with 22 volunteers from 17 companies will collaborate with Bronx Green-Up at Taqwa Community Farm to increase their capacity to grow and distribute fresh, neighborhood-grown food. Taqwa Community Farm, located in the Highbridge area of the South Bronx, was founded by Abu Talib and his son Bobby Watson in 1993. Taqwa Farm is a true community hub that provides growing space, recreational areas and fresh food in a neighborhood that truly lacks fresh food options.
States Logistics and Clif Bar share the same values of community service and giving back. States will pay each employee’s wage for their regular work week (40 hours), along with airfare, lodging, and meals during the trip. Participants only need bring along their passion for helping, their energy, and enthusiasm for making a difference!
