19 Week LEAN Course

States Logistics Services, Inc. offers a training course with employees called the “LEAN Development Training Course”.
The 19-week LEAN course was designed to teach potential future logistics leaders:
- The core concepts / tools of LEAN
- How to analyze problems (opportunities) and come up with a well thought out solution
- Professional skills needed to be a leader here at States Logistics (ex: teamwork, public speaking, etc.)
During our current LEAN Ambassador training course, we had the honor of hosting Robert O. Martichenko, author of Everything I Know About Lean I Learned in First Grade, during our class in Buena Park, California. This book is the foundation of our LEAN Development Program, which we run 2x a year for team members in leadership to our front-line associates. Our goal is to embed LEAN thinking deep into our culture.
The stronger our internal LEAN mindset, the more value, and savings we can pass on to our customers. Robert reminded us of a powerful truth: Problems are opportunities—and he’s right.
